Join us for a 5.5 mile hike in Riverside State Park through Deep Creek Canyon. This is a great hike for kids with the dry creek bed to explore and some pretty overlooks and views of the Spokane river. We'll also come along a beach area if anyone wants to hop in to cool off.
There is about 1000 feet of elevation gain, most of it near the beginning. We'll be taking it easy with stops to explore and rest. Strollers would be challenging through the first 1.5 miles due to uneven ground and we recommend a pack for littles if they need carried.
From Spokane take either Francis Avenue or Assembly Street to SR291. Turn left at 7 Mile Road. Continue 2.1 miles to State Park Drive, signed for Deep Creek Overlook. Turn right and continue .4 miles on the rough dirt access road to the parking lot. Discovery Pass required.
